ABOUT THIS ROLE
Based in London, Audible UK is looking for a Business Affairs Manager. In this position, you will help Audible execute our acquisition strategy for spoken-word content with content creators, agents, recognized IP and brands, to bolster the content offering that Audible provides its customers. You will form a key part of a small but mighty UK-based team reporting into a global structure that specializes in complex deal-making with top IP, negotiating deals with top providers.

As a Business Affairs Manager, you will...
- Manage the deal architecture, deal terms and day-to-day deal requirements for Audible UK’s owned and original content, with a special focus on specific marketplaces as and when required
- In conjunction with the Legal team support the papering and subsequent negotiation of content agreements to completion
- Maintain good relationships with existing and potential partners, and where applicable identify potential literary works for acquisition
- Collaborate with the global cross functional teams to develop deal strategy, formulate key terms including all related analysis, strategizing and planning for a variety of complex agreements ranging from production to marketing commitments, and negotiations with local or global creators
- Support the internal P&L/ commercial forecasting process for original content commissions

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years experience
- Proven experience of success structuring, negotiating and closing terms for commercial content deals e.g. production commissions, audio publishing commissions, existing content licences, talent, multi-title/ output deals

Preferred Qualifications

- Comfort with complex commercial/ legal concepts and drafting, ability to quickly read and interpret legal terminology and reasoning
- Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills: the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and ideas in a non-technical, simple manner across different levels of an organisation
- Resourceful self-starter with an independent attitude and a focus on excellence
