ABOUT THIS POSITION
Based in Berlin, Audible GmbH is looking for a Associate Manager, Editorial, Catalog Operations to work as part of a team that receives, ingests, edits and maintains product information elements (metadata) and digital assets (audio, images, table of content) for titles to be released as part of Audible’s global catalog, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely release of all products. In your role, as the technical & operational subject matter expert of a team focused on editorial metadata processing to meet targets, you will help articulate and oversee operational standard best practices, align work and requirements with stakeholders and international partners. You will drive, contribute to, execute, be “hands-on” with projects, processing and workflows in the metadata area.

As a Associate Manager, Editorial, Catalog Operations, you will…
- Encourage, coordinate and support editorial processing work for Audible’s Berlin-managed European audiobook, audio drama and podcast catalogs to ensure on-time publication of all content to all required surfaces, providing the best possible localized customer listening, discovery and navigation experience
- Become and act as a subject matter expert on operational workflows and technical processes within the system for both local and global partners, advising as primary information source for the team in order to maintain compliance and consistency, supporting corrective action where needed
- Drive, manage and work on cross-functional projects in metadata area
- Perform, process and verify both daily and large-scale metadata update and correction requests received from providers, customers, and internal stakeholders via tickets or other sources, and ensure that requests are answered appropriately and in due time
- Identify areas of potential improvement to catalog management workflows and systems; work closely with global team and Product Management on improvements and new features
- Be the technical & operational referent for the team and support your manager to monitor and ensure that daily/weekly/monthly targets, deliverables and goals are met by providing feedback and supporting through corrective action

Basic Qualifications

- 3-5 years of experience in a position of responsibility in editorial/publishing, preferably web-based publishing environment, ideally with proven experience in CMS databases and metadata editing
- BA/BS or equivalent degree, preferably in Humanities
- Strong background in project management and the ability to manage multiple projects or tasks at different stages in parallel and deal with ambiguous situations
- Experience with Office Suite (Outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint) and knowledge of advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP
- Excellent command of English language for internal/external business communication, and at least one of the following languages: German, French, Italian or Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

- A self-starter with impeccable organizational and analytical skills that is able to thrive in a high-energy, entrepreneurial environment
- A confident and upbeat communicator via written and verbal business communication skills
- Experience with Content Risk Management
- An avid consumer of online media, including books (audio and print), blogs, podcasts, and other digital content
- Additional language skills in other European languages are a plus, specifically German, French, Italian or Spanish
- Demonstrated experience as a supervisor, mentor, advisor, or team lead or comparable
