Senior Visual Experience Designer
Product & Customer Experience | Job ID 10386406Job Summary
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Revolutionizing the storytelling experience is just part of an Audible Visual Experience (VX) Designer’s daily to-do list. You will drive visual excellence that elevates the listening experience and ensures cohesion for harmonious listening anytime, anywhere, on any platform – including iOS, Android, web, and Alexa. Like us, you're customer obsessed, and every design decision you make will be shaped by your profound understanding of visual communication principles to purposefully shape the customer experience. Just when it seems a product is perfected, you’ll polish subtle refinements in hierarchy and rhythm that elevate it further. Your creativity will take deep customer insight and transform it into visually stunning experiences that will continuously evolve our brand identity, all while discovering new ways to visually enhance the power of the spoken word.
ABOUT YOU
Life inspires your work. You look to yourself for insight and can’t help keeping a running list of ways to improve your own visual design. You’re most creative when working through situational restraints, from everyday life hacks to professional milestones. You always strive for more, an expert in proactive design thinking. No stone is ever left unturned; you’re all about asking the big questions and the small ones. The only thing more exciting than validating a solution is sharing it with your team. And as a collaborator and mentor, you’ve seen first-hand how constructive feedback and a growth mindset create an environment where everyone thrives. You’re ready to hone your craft and broaden your design skills, but the journey with your team is what drives you.
As a Senior VX Designer, you will....
- Apply deep understanding of design principles — including typography, composition and layout, scale, and color theory — to create cohesive, innovative visual experiences that influence long-term organizational strategy
- Champion visual design excellence by relentlessly raising the bar through new insights, design trends, and strategic thinking
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise across visual design domains including graphic design, motion, art direction, and design systems
- Scale a new visual language through the design system by translating visual principles into design tokens, reusable components, and patterns that integrate with development workflows to ensure consistency and quality across platforms
- Create high-fidelity visual designs and interactive prototypes that explore new visual directions, demonstrate motion principles and micro-interactions, and validate design intent through stakeholder collaboration and user testing
- Build relationships which provide leadership, direction and mentorship for a team of UX Designers
- Actively collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams, management, and research on complex user flows and commerce-driven projects
