ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Associate Director, Production and Operations will play a critical role in building and optimizing the production systems that enable Audible Studios to deliver premium content. This position serves as a strategic operational leader who orchestrates seamless collaboration between cross functional teams and workflows to ensure excellence at every stage of the content lifecycle—from conception to delivery.
This role is ideal for a systems thinker and problem-solver who thrives in dynamic and creative environments, balances quality with efficiency, and builds scalable frameworks that empower creative teams to do their best work.
As an Associate Director of Production and Operations, you will…
- Work closely with creative teams to understand audio content production processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Facilitate clear communication and seamless handoffs across teams to support end-to-end production from concept through final delivery
- Coordinate recurring and ad hoc cross-team meetings that require multi-departmental involvement
- Identify process inefficiencies and develop solutions that improve both quality and efficiency
- Develop standardized production templates, schedules, and documentation frameworks that enable teams to deliver exceptional content
- Systematically capture lessons learned and feed insights back into workflow design to support continuous improvement
- Design and implement scalable production systems and workflows that support current operations and future innovations
- Implement tools and technologies that enhance operational effectiveness
- Train internal teams and stakeholders on system usage and drive adoption of best practices
- Coach and mentor team members to build operational capabilities
- Lead the integration of new tools, processes, and workflows while supporting teams through change
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to communicate changes, address concerns, and build organizational capability

Basic Qualifications
- Experience managing content projects of varying complexity
- Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication
- Experience leading organizational change initiatives across multiple locations
- 6+ years of experience in production operations or post-production roles (Post Producer or similar) overseeing end-to-end production at large-volume production companies, studios, or networks within TV, media, audio content, or entertainment industries
- Experience designing and implementing content-production systems, workflows, or process improvements
- Experience in using AI to enhance operational efficiency
- Experience with production management tools and technologies (e.g., Airtable, FrameIO, Salesforce, Asana, and other project management platforms)
- implementing process improvements and workflow efficiencies
- Experience that includes analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience working independently and collaborating effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Decision-making skills and ability to serve as escalation point for time-sensitive production needs
- Effective creative judgment and ability to assess workflow effectiveness across all aspects of production
- Understanding and passion of audio-first storytelling
- Passion and understanding of the audio entertainment and spoken-word storytelling landscape
- Experience leading creative and operational transformation within a large studio or network environment
- Proven ability to connect creative needs with business outcomes
- Collaborative, data-informed leader who thrives in both strategic and hands-on contexts
- Passion for sound, performance, and story as transformative mediums

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
