ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Associate Director, Publisher Relations - New Marketplaces is part of the Content Acquisition team EU & LatAM and will oversee publisher relationships, deal structures, and business development initiatives across all newly launched marketplaces in EU. This role will be crucial to help deliver the leading spoken word catalogue for our audience in new and emerging geographies and languages critical to Audible’s future growth.
In this role you’ll generate, negotiate, and close a high volume of new deals and deal renewals with audiobook publishers and book publishers. In addition, you will lead negotiations, develop innovative deal structures and processes, set up and implement strategic projects that drive growth for Audible.

As an Associate Director, Publisher Relations - New Marketplaces, you will...
- Independently manage, prioritize, and execute high volume deal flow, structuring, negotiating, and executing deals that support Audible’s content strategy and global initiatives
- Identify and investigate new partnership opportunities considering strategic goals and develop unique and ambitious deal structures to meet those goals and grow Audible’s content offerings
- Create written reports and presentation materials for senior leadership which communicate financial analysis, strategic perspective, and drive toward a recommendation
- Support all content investment decisions through data, provide accurate recommendations for the content strategy based on performance data analysis, cost control (COGS) and financial projections
- Lead and design processes and systems that support our investment decision process
- Maintain and develop strong and productive strategic and day-to-day relations with all our publishing partners for the respective marketplaces while also cooperating with cross-functional teams in developing the global expansion
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to develop deal strategy, formulate key terms including all related analysis, strategizing and planning for a variety of complex agreements and negotiations with global publishing vendors
- Build relationships to various internal stakeholders including Editorial/Creative, Finance, BI, Marketing, PR, Content Services, Content Partnerships, and Content Creation teams
- Collaborate closely with members of the content teams at Audible to maintain global consistency in messaging and policy

Basic Qualifications

- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals
- Experience being responsible/leading large and complex negotiations
- Experience in data analysis and reporting
- Experience working in a matrixed environment, influencing strategy, and achieving goals by working across the organization
- Experience leading international intellectual property rights licensing negotiations in entertainment or media industries (book, television, film, or gaming)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience developing and delivering presentations to large and diverse audiences
- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization
- Experience working with a matrixed team of stakeholders to achieve a common goal or equivalent
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills
- Financial acumen with ability to develop and analyze deal economics and partnership models
- Experience in audiobook, publishing, or digital content industries
- Knowledge of intellectual property rights and licensing practices
- Willingness to travel
- Proactive attitude with excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills
- Language skills in an European language, preferably Dutch, Polish, or Swedish, is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to change
