ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Audible Books Content Acquisition Team EU owns the full cycle business relationships with the authors, writers, content creators, literary agents and recognized IP brands that serve as Audible’s top global creators in the literary space. In this role you’ll generate, negotiate, and close a high volume of new deals and deal renewals for audio original and book-based audio content with prospective and current top partners, at terms that benefit Audible customers. You’ll have responsibility for acquired content, ensure successful post-signing go to market planning across the relevant teams at Audible and Amazon, and contribute to defining strategic development affecting Audible’s overall growth and success.

As the Manager, Audible Books Content Acquisition EU, you will...
- Identify, initiate and develop relationships with new and existing content partners across EU territories, fostering long-term collaboration and trust with the broader rights holder and creative community
- Independently manage a high-volume deal flow end-to-end, from structuring and negotiating to executing agreements, ensuring all deals are aligned with Audible's content strategy and initiatives
- Identify and prepare projects for internal support and valuation by presenting data, preparing budgets, P&Ls, and drafting proposed deal terms
- Work cross-functionally with various internal stakeholders including Editorial/Creative, Finance, BI, Marketing, PR, Content Services, Content Partnerships, and Content Creation teams
- Track and communicate deal terms within the organization and provide for first line of enforcement of deal terms if necessary
- Coordinate closely with members of the content teams at Audible to maintain consistency in messaging and policy
- Build and manage the deal architecture, negotiations and day-to-day deal requirements for Audible Produced EU content
- Develop and improve the quality and efficiency of all our EU deal terms, negotiations, and agreements to support our direct relations to content creators
- Work hand-in-hand with our European Legal and Business Affairs teams on complex rights and contracts negotiation
- Collaborate with the global cross functional teams to develop deal strategy, formulate key terms including all related analysis, strategizing and planning for a variety of complex agreements, and negotiations with local or global creators

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in Intellectual Property (IP) Law
- Experience in traditional and emerging media channels including TV, OOH, cinema, digital display, online video and paid social
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing operations environment
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Experience in project/contract management
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Experience with intellectual property law across EU territories, including copyright, neighbouring rights, and related licensing frameworks
- Experience managing multiple concurrent negotiations while maintaining attention to detail and deadline commitments

Preferred Qualifications

- Speak, write, and read fluently in French, Spanish, German or Italian
- LLB (Bachelor of Laws) or LLM (Masters of Laws), preferably in Intellectual Property and/or Media Law
- Proven and specialised experience in the audio rights space, with hands-on involvement in acquiring or selling audio rights within the publishing industry
- Proven experience in building and nurturing professional relationships with creative individuals, communities, and industry organisations.
- Passionate about storytelling, the evolution of audio, theater, music, books, and consuming audio content
- Resourceful self-starter with an independent attitude and focus on excellence
