ABOUT THIS ROLE
To support the content team with making innovative and premium audio content, we are looking for a Director of Production Management to join our Tokyo based team. The role will work with the Content Lead to manage and organize the production of content including talent management, efficient delivery of content from the studios and support with quality control.

The Director of Production and Content Operations will lead strategic operations for deal processing management, production operation management and content production across Japan, driving operational excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and scalable processes to support ambitious content objectives.

As Director of Production and Content Operations – Japan, you will...
- Work with content lead to plan and execute an efficient production flow, content operations and manage and maintain strong pipelines to serve objectives and KPIs of Japan Content team
- Oversee a roadmap of content projects coordinating prioritization and resourcing with internal and external project owners
- Work in conjunction with stakeholders to execute infrastructure expansion and ensure tech supports expansion and product features
- Scope business and functional requirements for relevant stakeholders in order to create and enhance new systems process and tools
- Own and communicate upcoming changes to operational standard work based on tech and product enhancements
- Manage all production flows and content operation processes and seek for better & scalable content production process and deal operations as needed
- Know what high quality audio experience and manage numbers of titles to be produced with Audible standard
- Always think about how we elevate the service and content quality level through lens of Production and content operations.
- Coordinate effectively among cross-functional teams, particularly Audible’s audio production and content operation, in ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely manner
- Work with Audible content producers on the workflow of editorial content through the Audible production pipeline, and making sure that all deadlines are met
- Oversee all other elements to the production and operation process
- Keep inventory on all submissions, manuscripts and projects in development for the editorial team
- Execute on behalf of the other team on all production requirements needed across the services
- Communicate with stakeholders and tracking production status
- Partner with Content Operations and production team in other market places to ensure the local Production team is setup for success with the latest/most effective tools and production trackers while addressing bottlenecks by implementing production industry and company best practices
- Track production budget
- Find opportunity to expand Audible Studios
- Create, Manage database of creators, narrators and directors

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in program or project management
- Experience directly managing teams of 3 or more
- Knowledge of Excel skills to be able to refine data and prepare business reports
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Production pipeline management experience, including partner identification and negotiations
- Proficiency with modern tools and technology
- Organizational skills for managing talent, director, and project databases
- Team-oriented attitude and collaborative work style
- Business-level Japanese proficiency (both written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in literary publication, magazine, website, or publishing business
- Meticulous approach to organizing highly-diversified data
- Passion for content, talents, creators, and studios
- Self-motivated with ability to take initiative and work independently
- Willingness to conduct hands-on tasks to organize production-related data
- Business-level English proficiency (if not currently proficient, Audible provides training support)
