ABOUT THIS ROLE
Audible is seeking a Director, Business Development to develop marketing, distribution, and product partnerships that serve our strategic growth initiatives and accelerate Audible member growth and engagement. This role sits at the intersection of content, technology, and marketing — partnering with some of the world's leading brands to bring Audible to new audiences in innovative ways.

Based within the Global Business Development team, the Director will be a key member of the team shaping the future of Audible, leading cross-functional teams on partnerships designed to make it easier for customers to discover and enjoy Audible. This is a high-visibility role with global scope, requiring the ability to manage complex, multi-market partnerships from inception to completion.

ABOUT YOU
You live and breathe the development and execution of strategic partnerships that require a high degree of collaboration, and you sweat the details to understand customer needs and seek out novel ways to delight customers and reach new audiences. You have a strong understanding of how product, content, and technology intersect to create compelling partnership opportunities. You manage partner relationships with care, professionalism, and attention to detail. You're a natural collaborator equally comfortable talking content with the editorial team, customer acquisition and engagement with marketing, copy and positioning with product marketers, numbers with finance, and strategy with executive leadership. You know how to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align around shared objectives. You have excellent project management skills and are comfortable navigating ambiguity, and you communicate with clarity and conciseness in both verbal and written formats.

As a Director, Business Development, you will...
- Define and lead strategic partnerships end-to-end across multiple geographies—from conceptualization and business case development through negotiation, contract execution, launch planning, and ongoing account management—identifying and prioritizing opportunities that drive significant business growth and competitive advantage
- Develop and cultivate deep relationships with key partners, serving as a trusted advisor to ensure alignment on strategic objectives
- Negotiate and structure complex partnership agreements to drive growth in subscriber acquisition, engagement, and retention, ensuring favorable terms and conditions including value exchange definition, product requirements, financial modeling, and integration activities
- Oversee partnership integration and implementation, collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g. Product, Technology, Marketing, Legal, Content, Finance) to ensure successful launch and ongoing operations
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize partnership performance, defining clear success metrics and building reporting frameworks to track and communicate performance against goals
- Drive operational excellence and define process improvements to optimize ways to scale and improve time to market, contributing to the development of BD team processes and playbooks as the team scales
