ABOUT THIS ROLE
Audible’s Rest of World Content Acquisition Team owns the full cycle business relationships with authors, writers, content creators, literary agents, publishers, and recognized IP brands in new and emerging geographies and languages critical to Audible’s future growth. In this role you’ll generate, negotiate, and close a high volume of new deals and deal renewals for audio original, podcast, and book-based audio content with prospective partners, at terms that benefit Audible customers. You’ll have responsibility for evaluating monetization of acquired content rights, supporting creative production, and ensure successful go to market planning across the relevant teams at Audible and Amazon; and also contribute to defining strategic development affecting Audible’s overall growth and success.

As a Content Acquisitions Associate Director, Rest of World, you will...
- Develop, grow, and maintain relationships with potential content partners, including authors, writers, content creators, agents, publishers, and IP brands
- Independently manage, prioritize, and execute high volume deal flow, structuring, negotiating, and executing deals that support Audible’s content strategy and global initiatives
- Identify and prepare projects for internal support and valuation by presenting customer focus segment data, preparing budgets, P&Ls, and drafting proposed deal terms
- Work directly with content creators, production partners, and internal analytics teams to provide data-driven feedback and direction throughout the creative execution process
- Build relationships and represent the Rest of World deals team to various internal stakeholders including Editorial/Creative, Finance, BI, Marketing, PR, Content Services, Content Partnerships, and Content Creation teams
- Track and communicate deal terms within the organization and provide for first line of enforcement of deal terms if necessary
- Coordinate closely with members of the content teams at Audible to maintain global consistency in messaging and policy

Basic Qualifications

- 8+ years experience in a book publishing, content, media rights, business development, or digital media department/company
- Experience in deal-making, negotiation, and relationship management
- Experience working globally

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with authors or content creators to craft and shape a creative concept, providing data driven iterative feedback and notes to meet the needs and preferences of an identified audience segment
- Experience in and understanding of investment and ROI in both the digital and traditional media spaces
- Experience in the audio space, acquiring or selling audio rights
- Passionate about storytelling, the evolution of audio, theater, music, books, and consuming audio content
- Aptitude to use Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and company-wide Project Management tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
