ABOUT THE ROLE
Based in Tokyo, Audible is looking for a Content Acquisitions Specialist initially on a 12 month contract. This role is to work with Content leadership, supporting the 3P Content Acquisitions and Partnerships function.

ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate should have strong deal-making experience, able to acquire relevant rights from Japan’s leading content providers. The ideal candidate will have a background in producing, ‘Exclusive’ and ‘Original’ titles and will oversee internal content development activities at Audible. The Content Acquisitions Specialist will collaborate with in-house and external production studios and agencies, making sure all stakeholders, including PR and marketing, are informed, aligned and operating effectively to maximize the value of content. Critical functions of this role will be managing partner relationships with content holders and creators, deal making, content analysis and programming the release schedule, for the projects you work on. This role is also required to support Content leadership on major projects that will scale Audible’s content opportunities, locally and globally.

Key job responsibilities
AS the Senior Content Acquisition Specialist you will...
  • Work with leadership to successfully implement the content strategy for Audible Japan
  • Work with content leader, to create a 3P Content Acquisitions and Partnerships strategy that makes Audible stand out from other services
  • Work with content leader, build and own an Exclusive (podcast) and ‘Original’ content program by using customer insights and industry and marketplace knowledge
  • Develop, engage, and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with external key entertainment (film, television, radio, theatrical) producers
  • Act as day-to-day liaison to key original content collaborators and talent by building strong relationships that help them achieve their goals and release the best audio possible across Audible
  • Lead operational deployment of new content properties including leading all internal operations required to report, process and clear commissioned series
  • Drive end-to-end activities including all planning, logistical co-ordinations/documentation and communications with relevant stakeholders in accordance to regulatory and timeline requirements
  • Manage content partners and support the lifecycle - deal generation, submissions, offers, negotiation through to acceptance and marketing for titles. Grow and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners. Effectively communicate progress to partners in accessible ways
  • Manage and execute high volume deal flow within parameters against specific metrics
  • This role may support content projects for local and global opportunities and be responsible for all aspects of its set-up and completion

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrable Negotiation and Rights Management experience
  • Creative mindset and interested in trending demand of people. Sensitive with change in society.
  • Experienced managing and scaling fast-paced/high-growth production environments
  • Independent and autonomous with strong work ethic and internal drive
  • Detail-oriented and data driven
  • Highly organized and efficient
  • Strong communication skills
  • Calm under pressure and good at team work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • English language fluency
  • Demonstrable experience working with foreign language partners, an advantage. If you do not, there is training support at Audible to increase your English skills
