Based in Tokyo, Audible is looking for - Program Manager, Content, Japan - 12 month Contract
Are you interested in creating the future of audio content? Do you want to create the operating model to scale an emerging initiative across Japan and beyond? This role will work closely with the Content Lead to oversee the operational strategy and manage the ‘content roadmap’, ensuring operations for the initiative run smoothly and stakeholders are informed, aligned and operating effectively.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking to engage an experienced person to manage an emerging initiative, within the Japan Content team. In this role, you will work with the content lead and business stakeholders to launch this new project. You will work with these parties to build the ‘roadmap’ for the emerging initiative; tracking program deliverables with tech, product, and operations stakeholders, and understanding the existing challenges the operations teams face, use your expertise and experience to influence the prioritization of infrastructure and tech enhancements.

The candidate will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable working with large complex datasets, possesses strong analytical skills, and is an effective communicator. Cross-team coordination and collaboration skills are essential.

Key job responsibilities
As the Program Manager, Content you will...
  • Be the Japan POC for this emerging content initiative, for local and global opportunities
  • Work with the Content Lead to set-up the program within budget, working with local and global Content Heads and cross-functional partners to operationalize the initiative, ensuring successful execution and delivery
  • Scope business and functional requirements for relevant stakeholders in order to effectively advise on the enhancement and creation of systems, processes and tools
  • Work in conjunction with stakeholders to execute infrastructure expansion and ensure tech supports expansion and product features
  • Work with the Content Lead to communicate upcoming changes to operational standard work based on tech and product enhancements
  • Use data and metrics to advise the Content Lead to determine and drive improvements
  • Based on your experience and expertise, advise on changes in project scope, identify potential risks and devise contingency plans

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Broad experience in project management and process implementation
  • Seasoned experience of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
  • Highly organized and efficient. Experience in complex problem solving, and working to a tight schedule
  • Independent and autonomous with strong work ethic and internal drive
  • Detail-oriented and data driven
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to update progress to the team and stakeholders
  • Calm under pressure and good at team work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional degree (minimum BA) or equivalent
  • Experienced managing and scaling fast-paced/high-growth production environments
  • PMP or equivalent highly desirable
  • English language fluency. Demonstrable experience working with foreign language partners, an advantage
