Audible is looking for a results-oriented Director of Amazon Marketing to drive customer growth for Audible Japan (Audible.co.jp) via the Amazon JP Website, Amazon Devices & Affiliate programs. This role will be based in Tokyo and be reporting to Director Amazon Surfaces, APAC.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Based in Tokyo, the Amazon Marketing Director plays a pivotal role in the growth of the Amazon JP business focusing on developing the vision and execution for how Audible drives acquisition through our partnership with Amazon – (including but not limited to) utilizing Amazon website placements, book search rankings, rolling out product improvements, promotional integrations, marketing campaigns, lapsed database targeting, conversion rate optimization and integration into email programs. This role also be responsible for owning Audible JP’s promotional strategy and leading Audible’s participation across high traffic events across Prime day, Black Friday, etc. This role will also be responsible for liaising with global product teams to ensure product initiatives to improve acquisition via amazon are prioritized, sized and implemented.
The position will be responsible for coaching and developing a small team of marketing managers as well as partnering with local and global Audible and Amazon stakeholder teams, building strong partnerships, sharing best practices and seeking opportunities for increasing Audible’s visibility on Amazon.co.jp.

The ideal candidate will have experience building relationships within and across businesses, with a focus on driving mutually beneficial outcomes. This is a senior role requiring excellent stakeholder management skills in order to establish and own relationships with Amazon and Audible local and international stakeholders across different levels of leadership to influence their roadmap with the goal of increasing Audible’s visibility across their channels.
This role will require someone who is analytical, data led and can work with the insights to increase the efficiency of the campaigns already in market and analyse opportunities. In addition, this role will also be responsible for forecasting, budget management, reporting and performance analysis of marketing activities.

As a Director, Amazon Marketing, you will…
- Develop and execute customer acquisition strategy via Amazon JP Website, Devices, and Affiliate networks
- Partner with Amazon and Audible’s product and program teams to define and prioritize near term and long term product roadmap for Audible on Amazon JP touch-points
- Own localization, implementation and testing of new product features and launches
- Collaborate with APAC and global marketing and product counterparts to share knowledge and insights to drive local and global performance
- Define and oversee execution of Audible Japan’s outbound marketing strategy across channels including Emails, Push Notifications, Site placements, etc;
- Partner with marketing and tech teams to develop understanding of prioritization infrastructure and algorithms across different marketing systems
- Define and oversee execution of Audible’s promotional strategy in the JP marketplace. Lead participation across key Amazon deals and events to increase visibility and drive business KPI’s
- Establish and own relationship with Amazon affiliates team to build and execute strategy to drive customer acquisition via Amazon’s affiliates network
- Own relationships with senior Audible and Amazon stakeholders to identify opportunities for increasing Audible’s visibility across Amazon touch points
- Be the lead point of contact between local and global Amazon and Audible teams to own planning and execution of Audible deals and events
- Serve as voice of Amazon JP’s customer base to evaluate and recommend product and service enhancements to drive new customer acquisition
- Recommend and implement conversation rate optimization initiatives for Audible across Amazon Web and Mshop
- Own both short-term and long-term forecasting and reporting needs for the channel. Monitor metrics, goals, and KPI’s to measure and track and communicate business results
- Lead, manage and mentor a small team of marketing managers to execute these plans

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in developing, creating and executing marketing or product strategy and vision to drive customer acquisition or growth
- Good interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization in both Japanese and English
- Strong analytic and quantitative skills – Ability to analyze complex datasets and convert them into actionable insights for driving business growth
- Experience in writing data driven narratives with ability to influence others
- Demonstrated strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration
- Strong technical competency and ability to learn new systems and work with technology teams.
- Self-starter and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex business problems
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Good interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization in both Japanese and English
