ABOUT THE ROLE

The Content Development Lead will drive the development and creation of Australian Audible content productions. This role will work with a range internal and external teams, including producers, writers, studios, creative talent and agents, to identify and create distinctive and exclusive content for Audible Australia.

You are on the pulse of the cultural zeitgeist and bring strong instincts for content development that will resonate with audiences and help introduce Audible to new customers, wherever they choose to engage. You will understand how to shape the creative content process to ensure that it conveys a rich narrative, draws in and engages an audience and drives commercial goals. You naturally connect and build strong relationships with others, demonstrating strong emotional intelligence and an ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, with proven success of creator and talent management. You bring a creative approach and strong commercial acumen to developing content and bringing to life new ideas that push boundaries. You challenge the status quo, have a strong intuition, the ability to “connect the dots” and comfort with ambiguity, but use fact-based arguments to support ideas.

A day in the life
As Content Development Lead, Audible Australia, you will…
  • Work with AU functional leads to contribute to the identification of AU content development opportunities in Australia that will serve our current customers and attract new audiences to Audible Australia
  • Work as Creative Owner on Original content (e.g. story development, oversee script revisions and approvals, cover and title generation)
  • Develop, engage, and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with external key entertainment producers
  • Act as day-to-day liaison to key content collaborators and talent by building strong relationships that help them achieve their goals and release the best audio possible across Audible
  • Work with content acquisition manager to ensure all licenses and rights are contractually in place with content creators (e.g. authors, agents, publishers, studios, music licensing, etc.)
  • Liaise, communicate, and deliver on end-to-end content needs with Audible’s key stakeholders across Business Affairs, Marketing, PR, Merchandising, Programming and Product to facilitate both content and Audible success
  • Elevate Audible’s spectrum & belonging initiatives in Audible’s content programs and to constantly improve the attractiveness of Audible as collaborative partner

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or commensurate relevant experience
  • Experience in content development with a focus on storytelling
  • Experience in a commercial environment including talent management and partnership management, or audio development and production

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication at various levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Extensive knowledge across a range of content genres and formats
  • Extensive network of Australian content creators and talent
