Strategic Initiatives Senior Manager

The Strategic Initiatives Team is a core part of Audible’s mission to unleash the power of the spoken word. We use both qualitative and quantitative methods to identify strategic opportunities for Audible to provide a differentiated offering that delights our customers. Drawing on cross-functional expertise, we present opportunities for organic and inorganic growth to our senior leadership team and develop cross-functional plans to make those opportunities a reality. Our team seeks individuals who are passionate about using data to help drive informed decisions for the company and our customers. We’re looking for an analytical and creative thinker, with the ability to ask the right questions and develop a point of view that will influence decisions.

· Driven, energetic, highly organized, team player who works well in small fluid teams
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; confidence in presenting analyses and recommendations to senior leaders
· Ability to lead a cross functional team or project through influence, often without direct authority and persuading others through the use of data and facts
· Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with different owners efficiently and effectively; proven ability to foster relationships with key decision makers
· Comfort with ambiguity –identify and act upon opportunities or problems without instructions or a clear solution; responds well to ad hoc requests and adapts to changing priorities
· Experience or interest in technology or media sectors (audio content is a plus)
· Strong analytical curiosity and a resilient and positive attitude
· Experience negotiating partnerships or investments or in deal structuring
· Collaborate and work effectively across functions with internal and external stakeholders
· Drive a portfolio of strategic projects at various stages defining project scope, work plans, goals, KPI’s and specific project deliverables
· Analyze opportunistic market segments and perform company-based research on industries and companies of interest to Audible; synthesize results into actionable recommendations
· Act as a thought partner to owners of cross functional key initiatives who would benefit from additional structure, best practices and strategic insights
· Develop or assess competitive responses via product expansion, partnerships, investments and alliances, and acquisitions and divestitures
· Prepare financial models or analyze data relating to the foregoing and build business cases, gain cross-functional support and present to Audible’s leadership team

Basic Qualifications

· 5-10 years of experience in corporate development, management consulting, VC, corporate strategy, business development or corporate finance; minimum of 1-2 years in investment banking, consulting or a strong corporate leadership program (MBA a plus)
· Excellent research, writing and oral communication skills
· Strong Microsoft Excel financial modeling and data analysis skills
· Experience working in a fast-moving technology company and a strong interest in the intersection between technology and media
