ABOUT THIS ROLE
Audible is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive the product strategy, roadmap, and continuous improvement of its global revenue, financial management, and tax systems. The Senior Product Manager, Financial Systems will be a key player in driving the robust growth of Audible through the successful evolution of these vital platforms. ABOUT THE TEAM
This team’s expansive scope covers all of the systems within Audible and Amazon that are leveraged for financial management and tax compliance. A team of dedicated engineers works alongside of other engineering teams across Audible and Amazon to enhance and build systems to continuously scale Audible’s global customer reach. This team works across functions, with critical guidance from accounting and tax professionals in both companies. Your success will directly benefit both Audible’s millions of listeners, as well as creators across the globe. In addition, you’ll gain direct insight into one of the world’s largest retailers, as you work closely with Amazon partners to leverage the best of Amazon’s technology and infrastructure.

ABOUT YOU
You demonstrate thought leadership in the Product Management function. You communicate complex ideas in a simple, concise, and clear manner, with an ability to lead even in the face of ambiguity, including the authoring of detailed technical requirements. You have a proven history of maintaining a successful roadmap, managing prioritization and trade-offs of short-term value and long-term strategic goals. You have a track record of driving decisions with data and analytics with applied judgment when data is ambiguous or absent. You have experience with building systems, reporting, and services for financial organizations. You have an ability to understand software systems and make meaningful contributions to software architecture decisions. You have deep knowledge of revenue reconciliation, the financial close process, and taxation. You are detail-oriented, ambitious, and a self-starter. You have deep technology understanding, strong product-oriented thinking.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will…
  • Demonstrate a passion for building value for stakeholders and internal users
  • Demonstrate strong execution, technical depth, analytical rigor, and excellent communication
  • Lead cross-functional (and cross-company) teams in developing a multi-year product strategy and vision for Audible’s global revenue, financial management, and tax systems, including driving C-level alignment
  • Work closely with business groups, engineering, finance, accounting, design, legal and other internal teams to understand business needs and translate them into solutions, including the creation of detailed requirements
  • Partner with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to proactively anticipate, identify, and resolve challenges that may impair the organization’s ability to meet its strategic, financial, and technical goals
  • Create and evolve a product roadmap that balances meeting critical needs of a massive consumer business and setting the foundation for next-order-of-magnitude growth
  • Identify and driving build-buy-borrow decisions among Audible-built, third-party, and Amazon infrastructure to create best-in-class systems and workflows
  • Set the priority and direction of engineering effort for maximum output and strategic success, including providing guidance on software architecture decisions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or tax product positions with significant strategic scope

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA
  • Team player: demonstrated strong ability to rally and bring various cross-functional teams together
  • Excellent communication skills: demonstrated ability to provide information to technical and non-technical stakeholders and guide them to informed decisions with confidence
  • Ability to recognize the benefits and limitations of the technical design of a feature, and engage with engineering to make informed trade-off decisions
  • Data-driven: Define metrics for success and failure; ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to back up assumptions and make decisions
  • Experience driving a product development process in a highly collaborative model, partnering with other product and technical teams to identify and influence development of new products, features, and functionalities
  • Product roadmap experience: experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Knowledge of Tax and VAT regulations, Revenue reconciliation and the financial close process, Financial reporting and auditing
  • Accounting/finance product experience related to a large-scale consumer media enterprise
  • Experience with accounting/finance/tax for subsidiaries
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Creative thinker
