JOB SUMMARY

Good storytelling starts with great listening. At Audible, that means each role and project has our audience in mind. Because the same people who design, develop and deploy our products also happen to use them. To us, that speaks volumes.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
Audible is searching for an exceptional Senior Economist to join our economics team. The Audible economics organization works across the business to measure and maximize the value Audible delivers to customers, creators, and communities globally. In this role, there will be a focus on partnering with our product teams to create and measure new ways for customers to access our catalog of audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment, develop new mechanisms to generate value for creators, and optimize content distribution and monetization. The Senior Economist will be a key technical leader for our staff economists and data scientists, and will also collaborate closely with scientists across Audible and partner teams at Amazon on problems pertinent to subscription businesses and the production, distribution, and monetization of media content.

ABOUT YOU
You have expertise at the intersection of economic theory and applied econometrics, with a keen business acumen and hands-on experience. You can distill exceptionally complex problems to their essence, and find ways to solve them to drive new value for our customers.

As a Senior Economist you will...
  • Work with Audible’s product and insights leadership team to identify key analytical problems and opportunities fit for economics to tackle
  • Contribute meaningfully to our long-term product strategy, and inform content and growth strategy
  • Guide our scientists to develop and maintain scalable, innovative econometric, data science and machine learning models that deliver actionable insights and results, with major conceptual or empirical contributions of your own
  • Be a regular author of publications at internal and external science conferences and journals
  • Collaborate with business and science teams across Audible and Amazon digital businesses to build data-driven solutions to key business problems
