ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Manager of Content Analytics within Audible’ s Global Insights and Data Science group, you will be responsible for creating and/or expanding our growing catalog of data assets, integrating them into existing data pipelines, establishing and executing on the long term analytics and reporting roadmap for Content, and developing data-driven insights for Audible’ s Content leadership. You will work cross-functionally with a broad set of teams from Engineering and Product Management to Content leadership. You will provide operational, economic, and behavioral analysis to support business case development, hypothesis and assumption testing, and inform large scale business decisions. You will explore new business cases leveraging an expanding suite of data assets developed internally and in partnership with our Data Science team, and you will develop KPIs and scorecards to track initiative progress/performance to enable a focus on results, execution, speed, and learning.

You love being hands-on and enjoy leveraging your technical skills to push the boundaries of our available data, scale and automated our analytic capabilities, and find answers to business problems. You have the ability to work with big data, develop insightful tools and analysis, work effectively as part of a cross-functional team, simultaneously focus on short term and long term deliverables, and communicate findings in a clear and compelling way.

As a Manager of Content Analytics, you will...
· Prioritize and expand upon our catalog of data assets:
· Partner with our Data Science team to bring their models to the forefront of analytics, translating them from concepts to real world application.
· Work closely with Data PMs to fuel new data instrumentation efforts and advocate for the Content organization to ensure we continue to fuel our collection assets to support the business.
· Prioritize and establish roadmap for engineering teams to integrate new and existing KPIs and attributes into our Enterprise Business Intelligence solution, act as SME for any technical questions that arise.
· Make a business impact through analytical and strategic guidance and reporting:
· Own analyses end-to-end: requirements collection, project planning, data gathering, and analyzing results.
· Conduct ad-hoc analysis through database querying, followed by insightful interpretation of results and the formulation and communication of recommendations that drive action.
· Work as a strategic business partner to scope a problem, formulate relevant questions, draw relevant data and provide insights from the data.
· Maintain a deep understanding of business drivers and an innate grasp of business metric definitions, and pro-actively interact with business partners to give context and support them in interpreting data.
· Ensure the accuracy, relevance, quality, and impact of deliverables.
· Become an analytics/data subject matter expert:
· Leverage your technical skills and curiosity to research and mine data sources to identify, understand, and surface opportunities.
· Explore new data assets, ideate on new methods to integrate them with existing insights to measure success, and develop supporting KPIs.
· Identify and execute process improvement strategies to enhance, automate, and/or streamline our capabilities.
· Communicate effectively:
· Illustrate key business trends and drivers through effective data delivery of scorecards and dashboards leveraging data visualization best practices.
· Clearly and concisely present strategic and tactical recommendations.
· Develop compelling presentations and documents - and communicate them with impact.
· Explain assumptions and quantitative methodologies to colleagues in other departments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ years relevant experience in the area of Business Intelligence/Data Engineering/Analytics and advanced/technical degree in MIS, math, statistics, hard science, finance, computer science, business or similar field.
· Knowledge of data/analytical tools – Expert level experience writing SQL; experience using data visualization tools (i.e.Tableau/Microstrategy); working experience with scripting languages focused on automation (i.e. Python/R).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Aptitude and drive to learn new tools quickly required.
· Passion for numbers, data and metrics, but also for delivering actionable analysis of highest quality.
· High attention to detail and a track record of managing multiple, competing priorities.
· Demonstrated high achievement and independence in prior roles.
· Excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivated with the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentations and PowerPoint.
· Intellectual curiosity for what drives the business.
· Applied experience with AWS and data science.
· 5+ years of experience building and applying data driven solutions and applications.
· Advanced degree (Masters, PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning or a related field.
· Background in content/media, marketing tech, software development, and/or internet industries preferred.
· An understanding of statistics, modeling techniques, product analytics, ecommerce analytics, marketing analytics, experimentation, and econometric techniques preferred.
