ABOUT THIS ROLE
Audible is seeking an Associate Director, Business Development & Content Marketing Partnerships to develop content-led co-branded marketing, promotional and business development partnerships that will service our strategic growth initiatives. Based within the Business Development team and in very close partnership with Content Marketing, the Associate Director, Business Development & Content Marketing Partnerships will be a leading strategist behind – and champion of – Audible content marketing partnership development efforts.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
You will be on the pulse of the ongoing Audible content slate and the Business Development pipeline and identify synergies to yield press-worthy partnerships that will drive awareness, acquisition and engagement for Audible. You will be a thought leader on relevant content marketing strategies and responsible for the customer voice as you work with cross functional teams to develop strategies, define relevant content partnership experiences and implement partner marketing plans.

ABOUT YOU
You live and breathe development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives, specifically traditional as well as innovative, out-of-the-box consumer content marketing experiences across embedded devices, web, and iOS and Android apps. You understand the value of effective brand and partner marketing from one platform to another and how they together form a whole, continuous end-to-end customer experience. You understand the value of each platform, have an insatiable appetite for understanding your customers, seeking out novel ways to delight customers and reach new audiences, and are relentless in finding content-led solutions that meet their needs across a variety of surfaces. You sweat the details and tie them back to the big picture. You have experience and a good understanding of content streaming platforms, distribution platforms, media and integrated marketing plan development. You have a strong product sense, as well as organizational and problem-solving skills. You handle partners with white-glove service. You’re a natural collaborator equally comfortable talking content with the editorial team, user-experiences with designers, copy and positioning with product marketers, numbers with finance and marketing, and strategy with executive leadership. You are also experienced and comfortable navigating ambiguity and influencing with authority.


As a Senior Manager, Business Development & Content Marketing Partnerships, you will…
  • Understand our content marketing strategy and partner ecosystem.
  • Develop and execute with a cross-functional team marketing plans in support of Business Development partnerships.
  • Ideate, communicate vision, strategy, objectives, and KPIs for new content-led partnerships in support of promoting Audible content.
  • Contribute to content + commerce strategy development, bridging short-term execution and long-term vision alongside a cross-functional team including stakeholders from Content, Business Development, Editorial, Marketing, Creative, Operations, PR, Social Media, Paid Media, Product Management and Customer Care.
  • Provide insights and develop a deep understanding of competitive landscapes to shape solutions; and create content partnership briefs, integrated marketing plans, partner agreements and related requirements.
  • Focus relentlessly to develop relevant content experiences that will surprise and delight our customers, and you will work closely with the Content Acquisition team to ensure that contract negotiations (talent and content) consider the promotional rights required to deliver content marketing solutions that meet the needs of our partners.
  • Monitor and be inspired by competitive entertainment brand partnerships and identify unique opportunities for Audible to forge in support of expanding content awareness, buzz and sampling.
  • Drive content marketing partnerships strategy and development from conceptualization through launch, collaborating in deal negotiations, creating actionable plans, work streams, and tactics and executing on those in support of co-branded marketing plans, while setting and managing the right expectations with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Define and manage the content marketing / business development roadmap & strategy, setting expectations with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and continuously update the vision and roadmap for Audible content experiences across a diverse set of partner integrations.
  • Collaborate with Content, Business Development, Marketing Ops, Brand Social, Paid Media, PR and external partners to determine relevant content offers and go-to-market plans.
  • Assess new business and content campaign partnership opportunities, balancing Audible objectives and customer obsession with the goals of the partner to find win-win solutions.
  • Ensure business and editorial stakeholder needs are aligned by driving mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions.
  • Write concept vision briefs and proposals that clearly outline the strategy, opportunity and concept for the partnership.
  • Write content marketing briefs, functional, and operational requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to business and editorial teams.
  • Create plans that have clear, measurable success criteria and participate in performance reporting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of experience in a combination of Business Development, Integrated Marketing, Brand Partnerships marketing initiatives.
  • Experience launching new content marketing, sponsorship and distribution partnerships resulting in material audience and revenue growth.
  • Experience managing content + commerce integrations with partners and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with editorial teams to build integrated content program slates: tentpole initiatives, milestones, and related documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to align and lead company’s strategic initiatives and navigate seamlessly across key stakeholder teams [Business Development, Marketing, Content, Operations, Product].
  • Experience in delivery and implementation of marketing campaign roadmaps.
  • Experience presenting and effectively communicating strategy to internal C-suite levels and external partnership teams.
  • Experience building deep partnerships with business teams for long term roadmaps and planning.

  • Team player: Strong, demonstrated ability to rally and bring varying functional teams together, and break through stalled decision making.
  • High emotional intelligence: Ability to earn trust through your keen understanding of collective goals across the organization, anticipate friction/blockers, and provide solutions upfront to eliminate churn.
  • Familiarity with content rights management processes.
  • Sound business & strategy judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Content partnership + integrated marketing experience within entertainment, content streaming environments, or marketing/ad agency.
