ABOUT THIS ROLE
Our technology teams play a key role in connecting listeners with millions of stories, by imagining, designing, developing and testing the software components and applications that make up the Audible platform. As a Software Development Senior Director, you’ll anticipate and seek out obstacles before they occur, implementing solutions that allow our engineers to fulfil the strategic and tactical business goals set by you. You’ll coach our teams to deliver visionary products, programs or projects, with the most efficient use of Audible’s resources. You will be responsible for managing and leading a high performing organization, including fostering Audible’s unique culture. As a Senior Director, Software Development, you will...
- Independently lead one or multiple teams of managers, and Support Engineers (SEs), and Software Development Engineers (SDEs)
- Work with your team to take ownership of critical technologies or major products
- Collaborate and communicate to define the functional and technical architecture of engineering teams, making sure that they align with Audible’s business strategy and priorities
- Apply your analytical skills to solve complex issues by considering their interrelationships and organizational impacts
- Partner with business leaders, technical managers and Senior/Principal Engineers to determine the long-term potentials of architectures and product offerings

Mexico City, DIF, MEX
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of people management experience, specifically building and leading high-performance engineering teams
- Experience collaborating with and influencing technical leaders
- Experience in creating communication strategies that engage and impact internal and external stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in budget and financial management
- An ability to create structure out of ambiguity and bring technical visions to life
- An understanding and familiarity with AWS technologies at scale in a production environment
