ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Corporate Counsel – Audible Japan is a member of Audible APAC and the global Amazon
Entertainment legal team, and is the primary legal counsel to the various business teams that support Audible service for Japan customers.
This role will be based in Tokyo, reporting to the VP - Audible APAC Legal.
Key job responsibilities
As a Corporate Counsel, you will...
-Be in charge of structuring and drafting, complex distribution, development, licensing,
production, marketing, and other commercial agreements.
-Support the development and production of original content, and provide counsel on
production and post-production related matters.
-Provide ongoing legal counsel across a range of fields, including intellectual property, digital
media, marketing review, consumer affairs and regulatory compliance.
-Provide compliance training to the business teams.
-Relevant experience practicing law as a transactional attorney, with some of that time spent
working on IP, technology, or entertainment transactions
-Bilingual in Japanese and English
-Experience structuring, drafting, negotiating, and closing a broad range of commercial contracts
in both Japanese and English.
-Experience and/or demonstrated interest in book publishing, distribution and sale or TV/feature film development and production.
-Both business and legal acumen
