Based in Tokyo, Audible is looking for Content Manager, Acquisition. This role will support content development, deal-making and production and ensure all stakeholders (such as PR and marketing) at Audible are informed, aligned and operating effectively to maximize the value of content. Critical functions of this role will be ownership of content provider relationships, deal making, content analysis and scheduling, for the projects you work on. This role may also be required, to lead major projects that will scale Audible Japan's content opportunities.

Key job responsibilities
As a Content Manager, Acquisition, you will
  • Evaluate, curate and identify appropriate content for the JP marketplace. Work with content leadership to build a world-class partner pipeline
  • Effectively manage relationships with assigned 'content holders', including publishers, providers and creators. Drive commercial and partnership excellence within the organization (including original and 3rd party publisher strategy.) Support new commercial and distribution models and future-proof all deals
  • Work closely with the local and global Production and Operations teams to streamline workflow and build a seamless process between deal to launch
  • Manage and evaluate content through performance tracking, industry knowledge and insights, and research in an effort to find the best content for our customers
  • This role may support content projects for local and global opportunities and be responsible for all aspects of its set-up and completion


• Experience negotating content deals and commissioning/licensing. Experience in contracting and ongoing management and/or support of project deliverables.
• Demonstrable knowledge and interest of digital media landscape. Intuitive feel for popular / marketable materials and social trends.
• Ability to work independently and change direction frequently.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Communicates effectively (oral and written) both internally and externally, including the ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas to a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Experienced managing and scaling fast-paced/high-growth production environments
• Detail-oriented and data driven
• Highly organized and efficient
• Calm under pressure and good at team work


  • English Language fluency. If you do not english language support is available.
  • Professional degree (minimum BA)
