We are seeking a ‘Trends’ expert to help guide teams to create content in new and growing topic areas. Over the past four years, we have developed a ‘trends framework’ with an award-winning research agency that points to future content opportunities for Audible, as well as the wider Amazon business. In this new role, you will help connect-the-dots across all this ground-breaking research and help steer content teams, globally, to new, exciting areas of content. We will look to you to dig deep into a multitude of areas, using multiple data sources, to help the business understand how we can make Audible Originals and Exclusives truly unique and ground-breaking.

This role will be temporarily remote until our return to office date, at which time we will use our Hub+Home model. Our Hub+Home hybrid model provides flexibility to do our best work in the way that works best - maximizing the benefits of both work from hub and home. The Global Content Research team partners with our creative colleagues to identify the opportunities for the next best listen. We are seeking to fill a new role dedicated to bringing the shifts in culture and society to help guide teams to what to make next. With a comprehensive ‘trends’ framework that is being used across the Amazon business, we want all teams across Content, Marketing, and Product to be fully immersed in the trends that are driving behavioural changes and shifts in appetite for our listening members and prospects.

You’re passionate about content, across all forms (Podcasts, TV, Movies, Books, etc). You’re across what’s breaking through, content-wise, and have a strong understanding of what’s under the radar and gaining popularity. You think about why certain topics, titles, and shows break the mold and become the first in a new space. You think about how culture is influenced and shaped by society and what that might mean for future content offerings.

You’re focused on collaborating with our internal stakeholders and act to help make both them and the wider business successful. You’re a great listener, spend time to understand the problems and challenges, and then use the many tools, approaches, and datasets to help provide direction and guidance on what the business should make next.

You have solid organizational and project management skills to keep our studies on track. You are skilled at collaborating across different cross-functional teams and global marketplace teams.

You’re a resourceful self-starter. You get energized when faced with new hurdles and obstacles to overcome and think out-of-the-box in how to change business culture to think in new ways.

You have a passion for customer insight and analysis and imagining ways to integrate 1st and 3rd party data sources.

You have strong verbal and written communication skills. You’re clear in what you say and write and are proactive in collaborating and finding a path forward.

As a Sr. Research Partner, you will...
· Work cross functionally, sharing trends and insight to help socialize, activate, and accelerate learnings to help align content strategies across multiple marketplaces.
· Build and oversee a ‘Trends Sensor’ that guides the business to understanding what titles across the Amazon ecosystem are showing traction with consumers, in combination with following what we should be following in the cultural zeitgeist so that Audible can anticipate how that might influence our entertainment consumption.
· Guide Audible to keep-in-step with cultural shifts to place the business in anticipating behavior changes.
· Partner with the Studios teams, globally, and guide their usage of cultural insights and trends to explore new content opportunities and anticipate emerging formats and uses of audio.
· Collaborate with our colleagues in Product & Marketing to shape creative campaigns that lean into cultural shifts, creating viral, buzzworthy moments around our content offerings.


· Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, or similar.
· 7+ years of professional, non-internship, research/marketing experience.
· Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements, including Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data, as well as third-party tools to provide added context on cultural shifts, as well as consumer behavioral changes.
· Experience in distilling complex data and analyzing cultural trends which unlock rich insights and enable meaningful engagement opportunities, particularly with under-represented demographic groups.


· Experience building successful relationships with cross-functional internal teams and external research partners.
· Experience conceiving, coordinating, analyzing and disseminating qualitative and quantitative research projects.
· Deep experience in exploring culture, using anthropology and semiotics methodologies and applying those insights against brand and product strategies.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels of an organization.
· Ability to bring together research and data-points from multiple sources and create easy-to-understand & impactful recommendations. to influence stakeholders.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and gain trust at the highest levels of the organization; Ability to work collaboratively and in group situations.
