ABOUT THIS ROLE
As Associate Corporate Counsel you will be a key member of Audible’s European and wider global legal teams. You will work closely with legal and business colleagues to support Audible’s current and future service across Germany, UK, France, Italy and Spain. You will work on a variety of complex projects, including Audible’s response to local and regional regulatory changes, privacy matters, and the launch of new products and services. You are customer-obsessed, enjoy being challenged, work independently, and deliver pragmatic and practical advice in ambiguous situations. The role is based in either Berlin, Germany, or London, UK.

As an Associate Corporate Counsel, you will...
  • Structure, draft, negotiate and review a variety of commercial agreements with media agencies, content production studios, distribution partners and others.
  • Advise and train internal clients on marketing law requirements and business development opportunities.
  • Provide legal support on local and regional product and service launches and initiatives.
  • Work together with Audible and Amazon public policy teams to monitor and lead Audible’s response to regulatory developments impacting our European operations.
  • Maintain or develop standard contract forms, policies and processes.
  • Instruct and manage external counsel.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • German, UK, French, Italian or Spanish qualified lawyer.
  • Trained and qualified at an international law firm.
  • 18+ months of post-qualification experience supporting a digital media or content business as a member of, or on secondment to, an in-house team.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Business fluency in written and spoken English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Effectively prioritizes and runs a large number of projects at once in a fast-moving environment.
  • Collaborates and builds relationships with lawyers and business owners.
  • Experience advising on consumer and marketing law matters.
  • Proficiency in an additional European language (in particular German, French, Spanish, Italian).
