Based in Berlin, Audible is looking for someone enthusiastic to join our Content Lifecycle team for the EU region. In this position, you will work as part of a team that receives, ingests, edits and maintains product information elements (metadata) and digital assets (audio, images, table of content) for titles to be released as part of Audible’s global catalog, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely release of all products. In your role, you will supervise a sub-team focused on content coordination and metadata processing, help articulate and oversee operational standards and best practices, align work and requirements with stakeholders and international partners, as well as drive, contribute to, execute and be “hands-on” with projects in the metadata area. The role is open through an 18-months contract.

You have the ability to adapt to our business, communicate effectively within the team and towards stakeholders and are a strong contributor to the local and global content operations team efforts to deliver the best possible localized listener experience. You will feel comfortable in this role if you are keen on working with numerous stakeholders in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, enjoy mitigating risks, participating and taking ownership in various. You will coach and guide from proven data-driven best practices, want to push boundaries and optimize throughput with low defects, and lead from deep understanding of constant change to sustain a highly impactful constant improvement environment.

As a Metadata Operations Manager, you will...
  • Manage and develop a team of content coordinators and metadata operators by embodying Audible’s People Principles.
  • Supervise and coordinate ingestion work for Audible’s Berlin-managed European audiobook, audio drama and podcast catalogs to ensure on-time publishing of all content to all required surfaces and best possible localized customer experience.
  • Become and act as a subject matter expert on operational workflows and technical processes within the system, acting as primary information source for the team in order to maintain compliance and consistency, and take corrective action where needed.
  • Interact with internal customers and stakeholders to deliver on their requirements.
  • Drive, manage and work on cross-functional projects in metadata area.
  • Plan, coordinate, execute and verify catalog updates.
  • Identify areas of potential improvement to catalogue management workflows and systems and work closely with global team and Product Management on improvements and new features.


  • 3+ years experience in a position of responsibility in editorial/publishing, preferably web-based publishing environment, ideally with proven experience in CMS databases and metadata editing.
  • BA/BS or equivalent degree, preferably in Humanities.
  • Strong background in project management and the ability to manage multiple projects or tasks at different stages in parallel and deal with ambiguous situations.
  • Experience with Office Suite (Outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint) and knowledge of advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.


  • Very good command of English language for internal/external business communication.
  • Demonstrated experience as a team lead or supervisor.
  • A self-starter with impeccable organizational and analytical skills that is able to thrive in a high-energy, entrepreneurial environment.
  • A confident and upbeat communicator via written and verbal business communication skills.
  • Experience with Content Risk Management.
  • An avid consumer of online media, including books (audio and print), blogs, podcasts, and other digital content.
  • Additional language skills in other European languages are a plus, specifically Italian, Spanish, French or German.
