ABOUT THIS ROLE
Based in Berlin, Audible GmbH is searching for a Coordinator, Content Lifecycle (m/f/d) to support the onboarding and maintenance of German language content within the Content Lifecycle team. The Content Lifecycle Coordinator works as part of a team that accurately creates, enters, edits, and maintains metadata for all Audible products and focuses on ensuring completeness, accuracy, and suitability of all metadata. The Content Lifecycle Coordinator is also an energetic and creative troubleshooter who works with a wide variety of people regarding all issues related to content which includes utilizing a variety of tools to quickly and thoroughly re-search various ad-hoc requests. The ideal candidate has German language expertise combined with editorial experience, avidly consumes media, is highly organized and detail oriented, and is able to thrive in a high-energy entrepreneurial environment.

This position is a parental leave cover and is open for 6 months.

As a Coordinator, Content Lifecycle, you will...
  • Oversee complete and timely metadata publication for all titles delivered to Audible.de, as well as proofread and fact-check key elements such as a product's price, on-sale date, territory rights, availability, provider, royalty earner, descriptive copy, and taxonomy prior to releasing a product to Audible marketplaces (Audible stores, Amazon, iTunes). You provide QA for Audible style in product descriptions, data consistency, and related product linking for all product metadata. The Content Lifecycle Coordinator needs to meet daily copyediting quotas, and to complete prioritized processing requests.
  • Function as an energetic and creative troubleshooter who works with a wide variety of people regarding all issues related to content reported through internal or external sources, making sure they answer to requests appropriately and in due time.
  • Support customer discovery by creating, verifying and updating product relationships such as Category Assignments, Series Affiliation (e.g. linking works in a trilogy), Title Authority (grouping different versions of works together) or Contributor Authority (bibliography).
  • Support the ingestion workflow in backup situations. This includes 1) reception and prioritization of incoming content, 2) communication with internal and external publishers, as well as 3) coordination of production issues and requests.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent command of the written and spoken German language, fluency in English.
  • BA/BS or equivalent degree, preferably in Humanities (e.g. Literature, Romance philology, Library Science or re-lated subject).
  • 1+ year experience in data-entry, proofreading, copy-editing, or fact-checking in publishing industry or related area.
  • 1+ year experience in Web-based publishing environment.
  • Experience in Windows operating environment, fluency in Outlook and MS Word. Advanced Excel skills and experience using advanced features such as pivot tables and vlookup.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An avid consumer of media, including books/periodicals (audio and digital reader), websites, blogs, and other digital content sources.
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of people.
  • Familiarity with categorization standards like BISAC or THEMA or standard XML metadata exchange formats like ONIX or RSS.
  • Additional language skills in other European languages are considered a major plus.
